Haiti - DR : Lynchage of 2 Haitians accused unjustly...

The Consulate General of Haiti in Santiago in the Dominican Republic deplores the lynching of two Haitian citizens, victim of the people's justice, Victor Pierre (43 years old) who died of his wounds and Desil'homme Athul (42 years old) seriously injured, unjustly accused of murdering a young Dominican delivery man Daniel Espejo Ramos (20 years old) on June 3, 2019 in Matanzas, south of Santiago.

Mrs. Judith Exavier accompanied by Vice-Consul Réginald Carrenard visited, on June 5, Mr. Athul, hospitalized at the Hospital Jose Maria Cabral and Baez in order to follow up his state of health and to gather additional information on the incident. They took the opportunity to assure Mr. Athul of the support of the Consulate and to provide him with the necessary assistance and assistance for the legal proceedings.

Colonel Juan Guzmán Badía announced that the real murderer Gabriel Beato Burgos (63 years old) had been arrested. He is also this man who had falsely asserted to the relatives of the deceased that the perpetrators of this crime were two Haitians who lived in the area, which provoked the unleashing of blind violence and the ensuing drama, such as unfortunately, too often the case on both sides of the border, when an uneducated population decides to do justice to itself by relying on rumors...
