Haiti - Security : Shots front the Embassy of France
Tuesday around 2:00 pm shots fired near the entrance for visa applications at the French Embassy in Port-au-Prince, caused a fear movement in the queue visa applicants.

The security guards of the Embassy opened the doors to allow these people to find refuge in the premises of the visa service. Two individuals, one simulated an injury, who were fleeing the police, took advantage of the confusion to enter the diplomatic compound by shoving the security guards, an intrusion that caused concern among consular agents and visa applicants.

The two individuals who entered by force were claimed by the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and handed over to it. The Embassy emphasizes that at no time did these two individuals claim protection or asylum and recalls that the Embassy is under the protection of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Recall that the Embassy of France was attacked Sunday by protesters. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27946-haiti-flash-violent-clashes-at-least-2-dead-many-injured-and-extensive-damage.html
