Haiti - Politic : «Our country is adrift, the youth flees the Motherland» dixit the CCIHC

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haiti-Canadian (CCIHC) notes that since its last releases, has added to the political confusion, the climate of insecurity, the widespread corruption and the disastrous economic situation that affects the Haitian society at all levels a galloping inflation, the accelerated devaluation of the gourde, an exaggerated rise in the prices of basic necessities, "as many consequences of the mismanagement of the country at the highest level."

The CCIHC notes "[...] that our country is adrift, the youth, whose best brains are fleeing the Motherland en masse", do not know to which Saint to devote so much its future is mortgaged. Insecurity affects all segments of the population, several areas of the country have become unlawful. We regret that people, regardless of their membership, are victims during these troubled times.

[...] We take advantage, once again, to congratulate the National Police of Haiti for its dedication to supervise the population in a professional manner despite its limited resources while exhorting it to correct the excesses that could hinder its mission to protect and serve.

We support in this sense the call of Religions for Peace to a real dialogue of the forces of the Nation in order to identify avenues of consensual and sustainable solutions at the height of the problems facing the country. Only an accountability and a fundamental overhaul of the socio-economic, political and judicial systems as well as our model of exclusive society [...] will lead us towards more certain horizons."
