Haiti - Social : More than 200 Haitians deported every day from Dominican Republic
The migratory control teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the DGM with the support of the military, the National Police, the body specialized in the security of tourism (CESTUR) in coordination with the Public Ministry of the concerned Provinces.
After the verification process using biometric readers and the central database, 1,944 compatriots (70.9%) were declared in an irregular migration situation.
The DGM said in a note that Haitians who had submitted valid legal documents authorizing them to remain on Dominican territory had been released, while all others in irregular migration situation, without paper or in possession of false paper had been transferred in particular to the border posts of Dajabón and Jimaní to be registered and deported to Haiti after having warned the authorities of the neighboring country.
Note that from 1 to 9 June the DGM had already deported 2.094 Haitians https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-27968-icihaiti-dr-migration-control-operations-2-094-haitians-deported.html from 1 to 19 June 212 compatriots on average were deported each day for a total of 4,038 during this period, pending the update of the statistics for the rest of June.
