Haiti - Education : 476 correctors of Secondary renovated in training

On the initiative of the Department of Secondary Education (DES) of the Ministry of National Education, a two-day training course (4th to 5th July) will be held at Alexandre Pétion high school, for 476 teachers, correctors of copies of the candidates of the renovated Secondary.

Maxime Mésilas, the Director of the DES, underlined "this is to allow these proofreaders to master the tools of qualitative evaluation of copies, related to the skill approach used for the renovated secondary." Adding that there will be no more remediation to the publication of the results and that the candidate who fails these exams will have to resume the subjects in which he will not have obtained his average.

Mésilas explains "[...] the correction of the copies of the Renovated Secondary is different from the evaluation of the copies of the traditional secondary which is based on the accumulation of notes (quantitative) [...] this training must help the correctors to better appreciate qualitatively the copies candidates, whose evaluation criteria rather take into account the evaluator's ability to understand."

West is the first department affected by this training, the other departments will be affected in the coming days.
