Haiti - Formation : Inauguration of the École Normale Technique

This Wednesday, July 10th, the École Normale Technique (ENTEC) will be inaugurated, intended for the preparation of trainers in Technical and Vocational Training (FTP).

ENTEC, which is the result of a partnership between the Congregation of Salesians in Haiti and the Direction of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP), fills several gaps in the national vocational training system.

From now on, with this École Normale Technique all those who will be appointed by the Haitian State as trainers in FTP will be systematically trained at ENTEC. The second function of this new institution, will be to ensure the upgrading and development of executives and ensure the development of skills to promote the production of teaching materials, almost nonexistent in the world of FTP in Haiti.

The choice of capacity building in human and technical resources aims to improve the management of vocational training centers in the country in order to better prepare young people, having chosen the FTP, to successful socio-professional integration.

Recall that the first phase of this training program from 2015 to 2018, had found the support of the Spanish Caritas and "Jovenes Y Desarollo". The training work was carried out by the Technical Office of Vocational Training of the Salesians where more than 200 trainers of public and private centers were trained of whom about 60 have already obtained their certificate.

Note that for the next 4 years, ENTEC will be supported by the Community of Madrid and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID).
