Haiti - Politic : New security device for the summer period

Monday at a press conference the Secretary of State for Public Security, Léon Ronsard Saint-Cyr, announced the deployment of a new security device called "Vacancy Security Plan", intended to ensure during the summer, security of foreign visitors, especially from the Diaspora and Haitians, both in the metropolitan area and in the provinces.

Specialized units will be permanently deployed on the North (Cabaret / Montrouis) and South (Petit-Goâve / Léogâne) roads in order to counter bandit attacks on the national roads #1 and #2.

Moreover, he indicated that in several departments the West and the Artibonite among others, reinforcements were deployed to fight the bandits

At the same time, the Secretary of State, reiterating the will of the Government to combat organized crime, informed that police forces will reinforce their devices in sensitive neighborhoods (Martissant, Portail Léogâne et Bicentenaire...), particularly with the deployment of armored vehicles to fight the Gangs.
