Haiti - Land conflict : The municipal authorities take over the legal control of the landfill in Mouchniette

On Monday, the mayors of Cap-Haïtien, Quartier-Morin and Limonade, accompanied by legal advisers, technicians, press and members of the population of the three communes, visited the 19-hectare site under construction, of the Mouchinette waste sorting landfill, treatment and transformation of dump (commune of Limonade, North).
In order to promote the resumption of construction work blocked by the businessman, Lesly Nazon who claims rights in the field https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27638-haiti-environment-a-businessman-blocks-the-landfill-of-limonade.html, and after having filed in Appeal of the decision of justice authorizing the blocking, with the Court of cassation by the General Direction of the Taxes (DGI) on behalf of the Haitian State, the municipal authorities have legally taken control of the site and announced the official resumption of construction of this important landfill.
Remember that this project initiated 10 years ago is financed by the World Bank, the French Development Agency and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) up to 33.5 million US dollars and that 10 million have already been invested in the beginning of the work.
