Haiti - DR : More than 13,000 Haitians deported or returned to the border

Other foreigners deported to their country (just under 600) were from the Bahamas, Cuba, Ecuador, the United States, England, Italy and Russia.

In addition, the DGM informs that it carried out from July 29 to August 2, migration control operations in 11 provinces: Azua, Duarte, Mirabal, Higuey, La Vega, Montecristi, Peravia, Santiago de los Caballeros, Santo Domingo, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde and the National District. during which 967 Haitian nationals were controlled.

The migratory control teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the DGM) with the support of the military, the National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned.

After the verification process using biometric readers and the central database, 816 compatriots (84%) were declared in an irregular migration situation and transferred to the Dajabón and Elías Piña border posts to be registered and deported to Haiti.
