Haiti - Football : Start of the rehabilitation of the fields of Great South
The concerned land managers were invited to set up specific projects in relation to the needs of their respective football parks according to the new FIFA procedures for financial assistance. It required among other things a well structured project by a firm legally registered in good standing with the DGI, with estimate and exact duration of works, having the technical and financial capacities to start the works and also present a certificate of the owners of the Parks concerned, authorizing the FIFA to intervene while guaranteeing to the Clubs of football of the city the full enjoyment of the sites during a minimum of 50 years.
Although the quotes have been submitted for about a year, it is only this month of August 2019 that the FHF is able to follow up. Carlo Marcelin explained that FIFA has $48,000 per land and the cities will have to do work within the limits of available resources, stressing that in the case where the work would require more financial resources, officials could seek local authorities to the possible consequences.
9 fields are affected according to the projects sent and approved by FIFA; the FHF is responsible for strict control at this level.
At Parc Gerrard Christophe (Léogâne), work will involve a metal fence to prevent drift and invasion of the field by supporters for each goal scored. Olivier's Maranatha Park (Petit-Gôave) will also carry out closing work as well as Parc Édouard Jean of Vieux Bourg (Aquin), Dupin Castor Jr. Park (Aquin), St Joseph's Park (Fund of the Negroes) and St Louis Park (Jérémie).
At the Ferrus Park (Grand-Gôave), the cloakroom will be constructed, as will Serge Bernadel Park (Miragoâne).
The user of the land of Gabion (Les Cayes) can be proud of the lawn they will be beneficiaries.
Some work will extend over 4 months and others over 2 months depending on the scope of the task.
