On Tuesday, despite the radical opposition's last attempt to prevent Prime Minister Fritz William Michel's presentation of the General Policy Statement, by vandalizing the sitting room of the lower house, the majority deputies finally ratified the Prime Minister Michel and his general policy https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28661-haiti-flash-missed-attempt-76-deputies-vote-in-favor-of-the-pm.html 76 for, 3 abstention, and 0 against (the radical opposition having left the meeting).

Prime minister Michel in his statement acknowledges that "the time is serious... very serious... and calls for action" and it is precisely these actions and the means he is considering, that he presented in his 50-page General Policy text, in order to establish "[...] a strong, effective State capable of meeting the basic needs of citizens, regardless of social rank, Political, religious or geographical class [...] To respond to the cries of our urban and rural populations, the urgency of the moment and the demands of the development of our country, the efforts of my Government will be concentrated around the following priorities :

• Strengthening Justice and Public Safety (Page 7-11)

• Strengthening the fight against social inequalities Pages 11 to 24)

• Recovery of the economy for accelerated growth and job creation (Pages 24 to 37)

• Promotion of good governance, transparency and the fight against corruption (Pages 37 to 40)

• Strengthening the Autonomy of Territorial Communities (Pages 40-41)

• Strengthening Democratic Acquis through Open and Credible Legislative and Local Elections (Pages 41-42)

• Integration of the Diaspora into the life of the nation (Page 42 to 47)

• Promotion of the National Dialogue to foster a climate of understanding (Pages 47 to 50)"

Now just have to wait for the ratification in the Senate before the installation of the new Government.
