Haiti - Social : Martelly emphasizes on sustainable jobs

President Michel Martelly, took part Tuesday to a meeting, of the Clinton Global Initiative at the Karibe Convention Center in Juvénat. This activity, which brought together more than sixty personalities from the private sector and NGOs, among others: Mr. Denis O'Brien, Digicel's CEO, Mr Frank William World Vision, Mr. Greg Mille and Mr. Walker Morris of the Clinton Foundation, was an opportunity for the President Elect, to greet the commitment of the Haiti Action Network, working in Haiti since November 2009.

During his speech, the President-elect Michel Martelly, has placed particular emphasis on the need to allow Haitian families to access sustainable employment to fight against social exclusion. "Too many people are excluded from the opportunity to earn a decent living for themselves and their families. Job creation is probably not the immediate goal, but no matter what you do, you create jobs and I think you have the opportunity to create other", hammered President Michel Martelly. He also asked the audience to engage a greater number of Haitians in their businesses and to encourage the transfer of knowledge within their institutions.

Recalling that 85% of Haitians with a university degree are working away from home, the elected president has called the assistance, through their respective structures to invest in staff training but also facilitate the repatriation of Haitian human resources for the benefit of sustainable development in Haiti. "Can you help me to bring them by recognizing their skills ?"

While thanking the private sector and NGOs for their contribution to the country, the elected President of the Republic also hope that these actions can be amplified to provide more fruit for the benefit of the Haitian economy. He also promised to them the support for his government "I can promise you that my government will be there for support you"

Michel Martelly, is scheduled to visit the Dominican Republic on Wednesday to meet President Leonel Fernandez at the National Palace. Haitian President is expected to arrive in Santo Domingo at 9:50 am on a private flight, the meeting is scheduled for 11:00am.

However, the press service of the Dominican Presidency has not confirmed this visit, saying only that the President Fernandez had canceled on his agenda, a trip to Higuey, where he was to inaugurate a prison.
