Marc Gregor Germain, an agent of the 25th promotion of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), assigned to the personal safety of former President Michel Martelly was shot dead by unidentified individuals.

Bilingual literacy, Creole and French

Chargé d'Affaires Robin Diallo of the US Embassy in Port-au-Prince, joined the Ministry of Education, the American Institute for Research (AIR) and education partners at the three-day national conference to discuss approaches to create a supportive positive environment in classrooms and schools for students learning literacy. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti) and AIR support the Ministry of Education in 150 schools in four departments of Haiti through teacher training, program development and knowledge sharing . Together, USAID and the Department of Education developed a bilingual program to help more than 150,000 children learn to read in French and Creole.

"The reality of the Chamber of Deputies and that of the Senate is different. Men and interests are not the same. What is certain, we must rethink the Republic," said Pierre Adler, Assistant to the President of the Senate, Carl Murat Cantave.
