The Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) associates with the Ministry of Environment (MDE) and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management (SPGRD) to inform that a earthquake of 4.6 on the Richter scale was recorded this Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 09:44 and 37 seconds, in the South Department, at 17.91°N, 73.63°W, at a depth of 10 km.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located at sea 35 km south of Les Cayes, 20 km southeast of Port Salut and 50 km southwest of Aquin.

"No damage reported by the communal committees of the DPC," informs the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC).
