22 people, including 8 children were burned, following an explosion of a gas cylinder, in a small house near the "Relais" market, in the commune of Les Cayes. No deaths have been reported at this time.

The coordinator of the Regional Directorate of Civil Protection (CPD) assists the institutions concerned to respond to the emergency.

Medical monitoring and necessary evacuations are provided by the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), the Office of Accident Insurance for Work, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA), and other institutions working in this area of the region.
