Haiti - Diplomacy : New Ambassador of the European Union in Haiti

On Thursday morning at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse received the credentials of Mrs. Sylvie Tabesse, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union in Haiti.

Sylvie Tabesse replaces the Frenchman Vincent Degert who has held the position since September 22, 2015 and completed his mission in Haiti on August 28th.

In the afternoon, Ambassador Tabesse deposited a floral offering at the National Pantheon. Following this Floral Offering in honor of the Fathers of the Motherland, she was invited by Mrs. Emmelie Prophet Milce, the acting Director General of the Museum of Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH) to discover the history and culture of Haiti during a guided tour of the Museum's permanent and temporary exhibition halls.

At the end of her visit, the European Ambassador said she was delighted to have benefited from an instructive trip in Haitian history and to discover the many facets of Haitian art.
