The DGM said that 6,785 Haitians living illegally in the Dominican Republic were arrested and deported to Haiti after being controlled in irregular migration during the many control operations in most provinces of the country, on the instructions of Lieutenant General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado, Director General of the DGM
In addition, 2,229 Haitians were turned back at the border while attempting to enter the territory illegally or illegally.
With regard to migratory movements along the land border, the DGM reports that last September, 18,486 entries and 14,431 exits were recorded, mainly by the Jimaní border crossing, where the highest flow was reported, followed by Dajabón, Elías Piña and Pedernales.
