Of the 15 students who started a hunger strike Sunday, October 13, to force the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29022-haiti-news-zapping.html they are now only 11. Four students had to stop this pressure tactic because of the rapid deterioration of their state of health.

The remaining 11 students (9 men and 2 women) who belong to several faculties, are grouped in a class of the Faculty of Law and Economics of the State University of Haiti (UEH), where handwritten posters on the walls, with messages in Creole express their demands. They spend their day lying on blankets or on a thin mattress, consuming only water and in some cases intravenous serum provided last Thursday by the Red Cross.

One of the strikers declared "We are clear in our demands [...] we chose not to eat until the President of the Republic hand over the key of the National Palace. We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the change of our country, we are in an unlimited strike, until the resignation of the President."
