Haiti - Education : 4.1 million euros for the project «EDUKAYITI»
Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet the Minister of National Education has received, the Ambassador of Spain in Haiti, Pedro José Sanz Serrano and two senior officials of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) in Haiti, Jordi Borlan and Manuel Alba Cano, respectively responsible for education projects and General Coordinator of the AECID office in Haiti.

Recall that the project to strengthen education services in South-East Haiti and improve the quality of education for the first fundamental cycle (EDUKAYITI) which receives funding of 4.1 million euros AECID has been at the center of discussions, particularly on the next steps to be taken for the implementation of the Project.

The two institutions agreed on a set of actions to be undertaken in order to launch this promising project for the education sector in the South-East.

The support provided for basic education, vocational training and higher education was reviewed. Stakeholders pledged to do their best to organize the first meeting of the Project Steering Committee and the official launch of the activities in the best time.

Minister Cadet instructed his Chief of Staff, Jackson Pléteau and his coordinator, Jacques Yvon Pierre, to follow up on the implementation of the project's operations with representatives of the Spanish Cooperation.

For his part, the Ambassador of Spain welcomed the commitment and the availability of the Minister for the launching of the first operations of the project.
