Human rights organizations reveal that during the riot in the Gonaïves prison on 7 November last https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29215-haiti-news-zapping.html several prisoners, while others vandalized the prison and most of them went out into the courtyards trying to escape, entered the women's prison area where there were 14 detainees and a minor girl.

After forcing the doors of the women's cells, the detainees engaged in a wild gang rape on 13 defenseless prisoners and no possibility of escaping from the hands of these predators...

Louisette Vertilus, the coordinator of a women's platform for the development of Artibonite, strongly denounced this gang rape and appealed for help so that these victims, who were temporarily transferred to the parish of Saint-Marc, can be promptly cared for to prevent certain Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and to have these inmates taken to hospital as soon as possible for examination.
