The US Ocean and Atmospheric Observing Agency (NOAA) has published a report on the 2019 hurricane season that ended Saturday, November 30.

So far, storms and hurricanes have spared Haiti, sometimes barely and have not caused major damage to life and property.

This hurricane season in the North Atlantic Basin, particularly in the Caribbean, has resulted in 18 named storms, including 6 category 1 or 2 hurricanes and 3 "major hurricanes" (categories 3, 4 or 5).

Recall that NOAA's forecasts at the beginning of the season were 10 to 17 named storms and 5 to 9 category 1 or 2 hurricanes and 2 to 4 major categories 3.4 or 5 hurricanes.
