Haiti - Education : Students shyly go back to school 03/12/2019 09:01:11
For the first day of recovery, there were few visible students in the streets and the vast majority of them were not wearing uniform but were in street clothes, many parents still fearing to take their children to school because of the precarious calm and announcements of resumption of demonstrations by the opposition on Thursday... Metropolitan area overview of the situation : The Sainte-Rose de Lima School opened, the pupils were mostly accompanied by their parents; Lycée de Pétion-ville nearly 2/3 of the 3,800 students were present; The high school Horacius Laventure gradually resumes its school activities this week but already works since November 19th for the 9th AF and philo; The girl school of Sisters of Charity of Bourdon, a few dozen schoolgirls observed; College of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, all the schoolchildren wore their uniform; Collège Catts Pressoir, Collège les Oliviers (Delmas 75) and Saint-Louis de Gonzague (Delmas 31) opened, Fritz Pierre Louis, Toussaint Louverture, Marie-Jeanne and Cent-Cinquantenaire high schools were open but students absent...
