Haiti - Bahamas : 113 Haitians repatriated to Port-au-Prince
On Thursday, December 12, the Bahamas repatriated 113 Haitians in an irregular migration situation to Haiti (via a Bahamasair flight which left the archipelago at 10:10 a.m.) bound for Port-au-Prince.

The group included the 39 undocumented Haitian migrants arrested Wednesday on a small island off the south coast of Great Inagua.

Clarence Russell, Director of Immigration said "the Government has expelled hundreds of undocumented Haitian migrants since the passage of Hurricane Dorian [...] we have great empathy for these people, especially after the passage of the hurricane, but the Bahamas remains a sovereign nation with laws that we, as an agency, are compelled to enforce in a humane but effective manner, taking into account the rule of law [...] We wish them a safe flight."

Of repatriations started 6 weeks after the passage of Dorian https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28987-haiti-flash-6-weeks-after-dorian-bahamas-resumes-deporting-haitians.html which have aroused protests from various United Nations organizations https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29019-haiti-un-ohchr-calls-on-bahamas-to-suspend-deportation-to-haiti.html and which continue to be criticized from all sides.

Note that with this flight of 113 Haitians, 453 compatriots have been repatriated since the passage of Dorian.

In addition, in the past two months, at least 4 groups of Haitian boat people have been intercepted in the waters of the Bahamas...
