Haiti - Economy : 25 business creation projects selected

With the financial support of the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) and the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in the Caribbean announces the first group of beneficiaries of the Solidarity Network of Support for business creation (RéSACE) in Haiti, a support program for students who wish to embark on the development of a business with high social impact.

From more than a hundred applications received, 25 project leaders (including 13 women) were chosen across the country for this first step. They will participate in a 180-hour incubation workshop from January 2020.

Six of these projects will receive co-funding of $ 10,000 to launch their businesses

List of projects selected for the first phase (2019-2020):

  • Agricultural production: Mrs. BELFLEUR, Kevine (Public University of the South in Les Cayes);

  • Agricultural transformation: BLANC, Jean-Paul (Center Caribbean University);

  • Bioenergy: Mrs. BONNET, Djoudline (École Nationale Supérieur de Technologie Sud-Est);

  • Catering: Mrs. CONSOLABLE, WISLINE (Public University of the South in Les Cayes);

  • Breeding: Mrs. EDJOUR, Marie Widny (INUKA Nippes University);

  • Animal production: ETIENNE, Dieu-Phradel (State University of Haiti Northeast);

  • Sorghum production: ETIENNE, Pierre Maillard (Episcopal University of Haiti Grand’Anse);

  • Consulting firm in Corporate Social Responsibility: GEORGES, Freddy (State University of Haiti North);

  • Bakery and pastry shop: Mrs. JEAN DENIS, Terline (Episcopal University of Southern Haiti);

  • Agricultural transformation: JOCELYN, Pierre Makerson (Notre Dame University of Haiti North-East);

  • Industrial chemistry: Mrs. JOSEPH, Daphnée (State University of Southern Haiti);

  • Sewing and model-making workshop: Ms. JOSEPH, Stéphanie (Quisqueya West University);

  • Automatic dispenser of drinking water: LOUIKA, Anderson Peter J. (INUKA West University);

  • Agricultural transformation: METELLUS, GUERDY (Public University of the North in Cap-Haitien);

  • Manufacture of essential oils: MICHEL, Alexandre (Episcopal University of Haiti Grand’Anse);

  • Company in the livestock sector: MONTREUIL, Kindy Vereus (State University of Haiti);

  • Creation of an agricultural farm: NOEL, Maxo (Episcopal University of Haiti Center);

  • Wine Production Center: Ms. PAYANT, Stéphanie Carmelle (Episcopal University of Haiti);

  • Flour production: PIERRE, Jeff (Notre Dame d'Haïti Grand’Anse University);

  • Company in the livestock sector: Mrs. PIERRE LOUIS, Carla (State University of Haiti North);

  • Pastry chain: Mrs. SALOMON, Clartie Maeva (National Higher School of West Technology);

  • Microfinance: SIMILIEN, Odrinx (State University of Haiti Northeast);

  • Honey production: Mrs. SINCÈRE, Schebna (State University of Southern Haiti);

  • Waste processing: Mrs. ST CYR, Nel-Ange (Quisqueya Ouest University);

  • Agricultural cooperative: vbST FLEUR, Beth Shana (Notre Dame d'Haïti Grand’Anse University).

About the RESACE :

This incubation and financial support program, which aims to contribute to the economic integration of students and young graduates, falls under the "Employment and innovation" component of the Campus of the New Francophone University Space (C-Neuf) Haiti-Antilles. Through a program of advice, facilitation and financing of projects for the creation of small and medium-sized student companies with high social impact, RéSACE aims to support 75 business projects and to co-finance 18, over 3 years.
