Haiti - Politic : No fuel shortage to fear affirms the Prime Minister

On Monday, Prime Minister a.i. Jean Michel Lapin said there was no fear of a fuel shortage. An affirmation confirmed by the National Authority of Regulation of the Energy Sector (ANARSE) which indicated the availability of a stock of fuels in Varreux, Thor and Martissant : that is to say precisely 146,410 barrels of diesel (2 weeks of supply) and 55,726 barrels of gasoline (1 week supply), distribution to major provincial towns began on Monday morning.

Lapin said the state had just finalized payment to a supplier who needs to import 351,000 barrels of product in the next few days and had upgraded with 3 other suppliers to import an additional 200,000 barrels.

With these 500,000 barrels to come, of which the first tanker is expected on January 9, Haiti will have a month of supply, stressed the Prime Minister, insisting that there is no reason to fear, a rarity, a shortage see fuel rationing as some rumors suggest...
