Haiti - Security : Graduation of a new promotion of CIMO
Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the National Police Academy (ENP), on the road of Frères took place the graduation ceremony of the new promotion of agents of the Corps of Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO) consisting of 102 police officers, including 12 women.

The ceremony took place in the presence of many police, ministerial and diplomatic authorities including Normil Rameau, Director General ai of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), Jean Roody Aly Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ronsard St Cyr Secretary of State for Public Security and the Ambassador of the United States accredited to Haiti Michele Sison.

In his speech, Normil Rameau stressed, among other things, the importance of this Unit in security governance in Haiti and the obligation of these riot control personnel to respect human rights.

US Ambassador Michèle Sison said, "The United States is a committed partner of the Haitian National Police and commends the HNP for its continued dedication to protecting all of Haiti’s citizens.

We believe that working with the PNH to keep Haitians secure in their communities, in a way that respects human and civil rights, is fundamental to maintaining peace and security in Haiti."
