Haiti - FLASH : 4 Grenadières injured, operated in less than a week

The final phase of the qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-29911-icihaiti-eliminatory-olympics-tokyo-2020-end-of-the-dream-of-our-grenadieres.html has been marked by several injuries to our Grenadières which forced them to undergo surgical procedures.

Three of them (Angeline Gustave, Rachelle Caremus and Soveline Beaubrun) had successful operations in Houston at the Methodist Hospital and we were unable to return home on February 4 with the team. As expected, they were taken care free of charge by a team of specialist doctors. However, Soveline was feeling sick (vomiting among others) but now she is better and Rachelle Caremus had severe post operative pain which required the use of a sedative to help her through this difficult time.

Emeline Charles (center), the 4th injured Grenadière was successfully operated on the knee, Monday, February 10 at around 9:00 a.m. at the Canapé Vert Hospital under the direction of the eminent Dr. Bernard Nau. Besides, she should not delay joining the FIFA goal center for the required rest after the operation before beginning her rehabilitation...

After these procedures, the girls who underwent surgery in Houston returned to the country for their convalescence and their rehabilitation before making their return to the stadium lawn, a period which should last between 5 to 6 months.

Two of them, Angeline Gustave and Rachelle Caremus will miss the U-20 Selection which will take place in the coming days in the Dominican Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29982-haiti-women-s-foot-world-cup-qualifying-u-20-pre-list-of-the-grenadieres-convened.html . As for Soveline Beaubrun and Emeline Charles, two key players in the Haitian defense, they will have to bet on the project of the Senior Selection for the 2023 World Cup.

A heavy blow for the various selections to which its players lend their service. It’s now up to the technical team to select the under-20s to find the right formula to fill the gap in these important elements.
