Haiti - Politic : Tour of Professional Training Centers in the Great South
Maguy Durcé, the Director General of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) recently made a tour of the great south of vocational training centers and follow up on those under construction.
Maguy Durcé, accompanied by several local authorities, visited in particular the Aux Côteaux Professional Center (Dept. South arrondissement). According to the Director of the INFP, this Center, which is no longer up to standard and no longer meets needs, will soon be rehabilitated to accommodate students in a more modern space promoting learning. Stressing that once rehabilitated, the Center will be able to offer more learning paths, including sewing.
While in Jérémie, Maguy Durcé took part in the ceremony of handing over parchments to 300 children aged between 14 and 17 years old from 6 communes in Grandes Anse, at the Jérémie Professional Center as part of an project of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in partnership with, among others, Canada, the Unicef de Institut du Bien-être Social et de Recherches (IBESR) and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. She took the opportunity to visit the Jérémie Professional Center and congratulated those responsible for the good performance of the establishment.
Subsequently, the Director General of INFP went among other to the construction site of the Professional Center of Les Cayes in the Deksia area, to observe the progress of the works and to ensure that the Center will be operational as soon as possible for the benefit of young people in the department.
