Minister Brunet "is all the more dismayed by the scale of this drama which, tragically claimed the lives of 2 adults and 18 children, despite the deployment of the emergency services and the police, with the support of people living in the area who nevertheless helped avoid the worst."

Brunet informs that he has instructed his Directorate of Political Affairs and Human Rights to carry out an investigation "[...] in order to establish the responsibility of the staff and managers of this hosting center, which, according to initial information did not hold an operating permit [...]" He underlines that, in synergy with the competent State structures, the investigators will have to shed all the light "on the level of qualification of the staff and the standard of the installations of this Center." The authorities concerned will also have to establish the exact causes of the fire.

"In these difficult circumstances, Minister Brunet offers his sincere sympathies to the families of the victims of this fire who left us prematurely. He took the opportunity to urge all citizens to be more vigilant and above all to respect safety instructions, in order to avoid the repetition of such tragedies."
