Two bandits shot dead
Wednesday afternoon in Chalon (Miragoâne) two armed individuals identified as Chrislor Michel and his brother David were killed during an exchange of fire with agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) while they were trying to escape from the police. They were wanted for having attacked a musical tank during the night of February 25 to 26.

Friday February 28, 2020, the number of people infected worldwide with the Coronavirus COVID-19 (laboratory confirmed cases) now stands at 83,719, an increase of 1,549 cases (+ 32.9%) compared to the previous day (1,165 ), https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30134-haiti-news-zapping.html ; 2,858 deaths (+ 1.9%) or 54 cases more than the day before (2,804). Average mortality rate 3.4%. 36,637 people healed, i.e. 3,739 people (+ 33.2%) more than the day before (2,782).

To date, there are 4,895 confirmed cases of infected people outside China (+ 24.9%), or 1,222 cases more than the previous day, in a total of 56 countries (+8 countries compared to the previous day).

66 deaths abroad since the start of the epidemic (December 2019), i.e. 10 more than the previous day: 26 in Iran, 13 in South Korea, 1 in Taiwan, 1 in the Philippines, 2 in Hong Kong, 4 in Japan, 2 in France and 17 in Italy.
