Haiti - Mexic o: More than 4,300 Haitians in Baja California deprived of access to medical care
The cancellation of the popular insurance leaves more than 4,300 Haitians without access to medical care in Baja California, warns Wilner Metelus, Chairman of the Committee for the Defense of Naturalized and Afro-Mexicans, who stresses that the situation is severely affecting sick people.

He recalls that the Government of Mexico does not immediately grant permanent residence to Haitians, forcing them to use a humanitarian visa which does not give them access to all services...

Recall that currently in Baja California, there are approximately 4,300 Haitians who have expressed their interest in staying live there and contributing to the economy of Mexico and who ask for the support of the authorities to speed up their immigration procedures.

In addition, Metelus deplores the recent death of 2 Haitians in Tijuana : one caused by an alleged "negligence" of a municipal police officer and the other murdered and asks the local authorities to clarify the facts to bring justice to the two victims.
