Hans Larsen, President of the Haitian Olympic Committee (COH) accompanied by the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee Alain Jean-Pierre arrived Monday in Cuba for a 4-day stay in order to sign a sports cooperation agreement with Roberto León Richards Aguiar, President of the Cuban Olympic Committee,

Upon his arrival at José Martí International Airport in Havana he was received by his Cuban counterpart who was accompanied by the Secretary General, Ruperto Herrera.

Roberto León Richards Aguiar underlined the importance of this visit and declared that during the meetings to be held during this official visit, issues of interest to the two Olympic Committees will be addressed, among others : the system of hiring athletes, sports medicine, the fight against doping, technical improvement for Haitian specialists, leisure and the experience of Cuba in the training of women, and in their roles in teams and management positions.

"We believe that this is an opportunity to strengthen the ties of collaboration that have existed between the two Nations so far and is beneficial not only for high performance sport, but also for other spheres of the sport system," said Richards Aguiar.

For his part, Hans Larsen said that these exchanges will increase the development of sport in Haiti and openly expressed his interest and satisfaction for the Cuban aid to Haitian coaches and among others in boxing, judo, athletics, table tennis...

The signing of this agreement could take place this Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

Also in the Larsen agenda during his stay, is also planned a working meeting with Osvaldo Vento Montiller President of The National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Cuba (INDER) and tours of institutions and sports centers in the capital.
