![]() Haiti - Economy : PM Jouthe announces a gradual resumption of activities in the textile sector 16/04/2020 09:49:00
Prime Minister Jouthe also announced that as of Monday, April 20, the government will allow the gradual resumption of activities within the textile sector stressing "These industries are very important to the government with its 56,000 jobs. We must authorize them to work even at 60% of their staff in order to respect the distancing," explaining that this resumption will be up to 30% in turn, in a fortnightly rotation mechanism, in order to allow all workers to remain productive while awaiting a return to normal. Adding that the boss will have to take the adequate measures to guarantee the distance between the workers as well as all the sanitary instructions decreed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the Ministry of Public Health. In addition, he informed that the Moïse/Jouthe administration had already disbursed, via the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), part of the envelope guaranteeing the coverage of 50% of the wages of the 58,000 workers of the sub- contracting, counting for the period of their availability due to the Covid-19.
