Haiti - NOTICE : Mask wearing mandatory in public places
"From Monday, May 11, 2020, wearing a mask will be mandatory in all public places" announced Prime Minister Jouthe who specifies "With reference to circular #001 of March 25, 2020 relating to the execution of the decree of March 19, 2020 declaring a state of health emergency throughout the national territory for a period of one month, and renewed on April 20, 2020, the Government of the Republic makes an obligation all citizens to wear a mask in public places, from Monday 11 May 2020 and until further notice.

This measure to combat the spread of Covid-19 particularly concerns:

  • Employees at their workplaces;
  • Truck drivers. buses, taxis, motorcycles, etc...;
  • Public transport passengers (road, air, sea);
  • The citizens circulating in the streets, in public places, in markets, or any other public place;
  • Anyone who visits hospitals, stores, banks and other public and private institutions.

All those who contravene these measures will be liable to sanctions, in accordance with the law.

The Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities and the Ministry of Justice and Public Security are instructed to enforce this decision."
