Haiti - Justice : The Director of the OAVCT in custody
Edrick Leander, the Director General of the Office of Vehicle Insurance Against Third Party (OAVCT), was placed in custody Monday. It is the subject of an investigation following numerous charges including, embezzlement, bribery, use of false... The Commissioner Félix Léger has indicated "We took a measure of custody, he is accused of many facts and we will continue to question it..."

George Ady, one of the leading members of the union of OAVCT, who left the institution for over 4 years, denounces a network, which according to him, would operate in the Annex to this institution. "Many vehicles stolen in the Dominican Republic or entered in the country under conditions unorthodox, from Canada and the United States, were recorded within this Annex through this network."

According to the results of the investigation report of the Unit for the Fight against Corruption (ULCC), released recently, the Director of OAVCT would have misappropriated more than 17 million gourds during his administration between 2004 and 2009.
