Haiti - USA : 50 Haitians including 14 criminals aboard the 3rd deportation flight from the USA

Monday, a deportation flight of Haitian citizens landed around 1:00 p.m. at Toussaint Louverture International Airport.

It is the 3rd eviction flights to Haiti decided by the Trump administration, in a little more than a month after that of April 7 last https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30473-haiti-flash-the-united-states-expels-68-haitians-in-the-middle-of-a-pandemic.html followed on April 22 by a second repatriation of 128 haitians https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30608-haiti-social-128-haitians-repatriated-by-the-trump-administration-arrived-in-the-country.html

Rather than the planned 100 deportees, only 50 were on board including 14 ex-prisoners having served their sentence and 34 other Haitian citizens including children for having lived on American territory in an irregular migration situation.

Jean Nego Bonheur the Coordinator of the National Office for Migration (ONM) who welcomed the deportees, said that he had not been informed by the ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's) of the reason why the other expellees were not not on board.

Upon arrival, all of the deportees were transported on an ONM bus to a hotel for quarantine, where they will be tested for Covid-19 upon arrival. It is the Ministry of Public Health with the support of the office of the First Lady who assumes the care of these compatriots at the hotel

The expulsion of death squad leader Emmanuel "Toto" Constant, whose name was previously on the deportees' list, was not on the plane.
