According to several informations circulating, an Extraordinary Session [in National Assembly] "could" take place this Monday, June 6. While the Prime Minister-designate Daniel Gérard Rouzier would be expected to file his documents the next day, Tuesday, June 7. If the documents are in accordance, the Prime Minister-designate, in a second time will proceed with the presentation of his General Policy, and the presentation of the members of his Cabinet for ratification...

Let us recall that the ratification session of the Prime Minister-designate, which was scheduled for Wednesday, June 1, had not occurred, some parliamentarians wondered, under which constitution the session would be held, that of 1987 or that amended, while other sources indicated that negotiations were still ongoing.

Wednesday 1 June, the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly had told the press about the problem of the constitution that there were several proposals and possibilities, but that he had to take the best decision for the country and for people concerned by these sections. Adding "at this level I will decide".

So "normally" by the end of the day, if this is not already done, Michel Martelly will send the text to the National Press of Haiti for publication in the official newspaper, Le Moniteur.

Last Hour

The text which had been published on May 13 in the Moniteur, which was different from that voted on May 9 has been annulled yesterday Thursday, June 2 by presidential decree.

So until publication of the new version, Haiti is under the Constitution of 1987.
