Haiti - Culture : The loves of a zombie, presidential candidate
The Haitian filmmaker, Arnold Antonin is invited to the 6th edition of "Rencontres Cinémas en Martinique" which will be held from June 6 to 17 in Fort-de-France. At this Occasions the movie "Les amours d'un zombi, candidat à la présidence" (The loves of a zombie, presidential candidate) will be screened at the Atrium, in the presence of the Director.

At the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) which was held in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso between February 26 and March 5, Mr. Antonin has received the price Paul Robeson for his film "Les amours d'un zombi". This is the third film of the filmmaker to be rewarded as part of this great festival of African film, after "Le président a t-il le Sida ?", and "Jacques Roumain, la passion d'un pays".

While receiving the prize, Arnold Antonin stressed that his film wants to be "a denunciation of the demagogues and at the same time the affirmation that the Haitian people will not agree to forever play the role of zombie that one wants impose on it".

On April 3 Arnold Antonin was present at the "Cinéma d'Ici, Cinéma d'Ailleurs" (CICA), which aims to promote cinema in Guyana, as a sponsor of this event, on that occasion he took the opportunity to make discover or rediscover the short films "Courage de femme" and "Chronique d'une catastrophe annoncée", "Jacques Roumain la passion d'un pays" and the feature films "Les amours d'un zombi" and "6 femmes d'exception" his latest movie.

After Cameroon, Nigeria, Brazil, Amiens, Ouagadougou, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Montreal, this movie, Paul Robeson award of best movie of the african diaspora to the last FESPACO continues its path.
