Saturday, June 20 in the evening, while Blaise Élysée, the Mayor of Montrouis (Dept. Artibonite) accompanying a patrol of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) aimed at combating the insecurity, of unidentified individuals opened fire on the patrol, triggering an immediate police response.

During this shooting, Mayor Élysée was wounded by several bullets and the impact of projectiles on his vehicle confirms the intensity of the exchanges of fire. Urgently taken to hospital, his state of health is stable, according to our information.

So far the PNH has not issued any report on this shooting.
