Condolences : death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
The Embassy of Haiti in Washington D.C. is saddened to learn of the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Supreme Court judge who has dedicated her career to defending women's rights and equality. "Women are an integral part of our global society. In our country, Haiti, we call them Poto Mitan, the pillars of society. The tireless champion of justice has recognized the great importance of women and has spent more than a decade leading the legal fight for gender equality. I offer my condolences to her family and to the American people for this great loss," Haitian Ambassador Hervé Denis.

After 8 years, Jérémie's power station is working
The power station of Jérémie (Dept. Grand'Anse) resumed service on September 19 thanks to 5 brand new engines, which had been stored at the EDH plant in this city for 8 years and which will allow EDH to provide 18 hours per day of electricity to subscribers in this region.

Japanese Embassy closed
Please note that the Embassy of Japan in Haiti is closed on Monday September 21, Respect for Elderly Day in Japan. It is a public holiday to pay tribute to the elderly who have contributed to society and to wish them long life.

New Management at the OPC
