Haiti - NOTICE : SIM card, mandatory identification of all buyers
On Thursday, October 29, in a press release, the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) reminds "the general public of the regulatory decision OE-CNT-DEC20130004 dated August 7, 2013 requiring operators to set up an identification structure for buyers of SIM card.

From 3 November 2020, national operators will be under the obligation to identify all their customers with an identity document. From the date required, operators will be obliged to comply with the injunctions of the telecommunications regulatory entity in Haiti, under penalty of seeing the sanctions provided for this purpose apply.

CONATEL urges all users to only buy SIM cards distributed by operators through their points of sale. Users will have to demand that their cards be identified." Let's remember that unidentified cards will not be activated.
