Wednesday, November 4, Gesner Dieudonné the President of the Interim Commission of the municipality of Limonade, was released a little more than 24 hours after his arrest https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32212-haiti-news-zapping.html following a warrant issued by Me Richemond Florival, Government Commissioner to the Court of First Instance of Cap-Haitien. The head of the prosecution explained that the mayor of Limonade was imprisoned after complaints made by several victims of spoliation, but he remains at the disposal of justice.
After 38 years, SEMANAH will have premises
Thursday, Éric Prévost Junior, Director General of the Maritime and Navigation Service of Haiti (SEMANAH), visited the old civil protection building which will be rehabilitated to accommodate SEMANAH employees. For the first time in 38 years, SEMANAH will have its own premises. Let us recall that for 10 years the SEMANAH occupies premises in Delmas rented a little more than 2 million Gourdes per year...
The BRH injects 12 million dollars
Tuesday, November 3, 7 days after a first injection of 12 million US dollars (last October 28), the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) has just injected another 12 million dollars on the foreign exchange market in order to support the available offer. This amount is distributed and sold on the market according to the conditions set by the BRH.
Important number for women
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), through the "Saj Fanm Pou Fanm" project, works to improve maternal health care for Haitian women and supports the Association of Midwives Nurses of Haiti (AISFH) which contributes in the fight against preventable maternal and newborn deaths across the country. The number 82 27 is now available and free nationwide to answer questions from pregnant women and those who have just given birth.
Social safety net and youth skills
On Wednesday at the Olofson hotel, the project "Temporary social safety net and skills for young people" was launched, in the presence of local authorities, the National Police, members of Civil Society, among others… It should be noted that this project of the Haitian State executed through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) and the Brazilian NGO Viva Rio.
Montreal : Reception for the new Consul
This week, the staff of the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal held a reception to welcome the Consul General, Mr. Fritz Dorvilier. On this occasion, Consul Albert Flécher praised Dr. Dorvilier as a teacher-researcher and career civil servant.
