Haiti - Politic : Pilot project for the validation of acquired professional experience
Dikel Delvariste, the Director General of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) and Dikel Delvariste the Director General of the National Council of Cooperatives (CNC) signed a memorandum of understanding last week, with a view to the implementation of the pilot project for the validation of acquired professional experience for the benefit of craftsmen in 5 departments (Artibonite, West, Center, Plateau Central, Grande-Anse) because too often, the absence of a certified document to prove skills of these gifted artisans represents a major handicap.

The INFP will not limit itself to issuing certificates, it will assess craftsmen, provide them with training in their field of activity; after these two stages there will be a technical assessment for certification and recognition of acquired skills.

Logistical resources will be deployed and made use of to provide proper supervision and make the most of their skills already acquired. This is an important step in the recognition of skills in order to help these professionals who have learned a trade on the job alongside a big brother, a father, a mother... to be more effective and to participate in the development of Haiti.

The role of the CNC will be to supervise certified craftsmen by facilitating loans and providing the necessary tools for good management of funds and their know-how.

Funded by the Swiss Embassy in Haiti, this pilot project will last 1 year and will be renewed based on performance and evaluations. It will then be extended to other departments.

The INFP and the CNC are now inviting craftsmen from the 5 departments chosen to start this pilot project, to seize this opportunity and at the same time benefit from the expertise of the CNC and the supervision of the INFP.
