Haiti - NOTICE : Special insurance policy renewal program
On Friday, November 20, Fritzner Bernadel, General Director of the Third Party Vehicle Insurance Office (OAVCT), launched a special insurance policy renewal program, named 20/20.

With this program, which runs from November 20 to December 20, 2020, owners of motor vehicles, cars and motorcycles whose insurance policies have expired will be able to regularize their situation thanks to this new program and benefit from discounts !

All homeowners who have not renewed their insurance policy for at least a year will be offered a special discount.

For arrears of at least two years on motorcycles, owners will only pay for one year of the insurance policy. This is also the case for car owners who have not renewed their insurance policy in the past two years, they will only pay for one year.

As for the owners of cars and trucks with cumulative debts of 3 to 10 years, they will only have to pay the sum due for 2 years of insurance policy and their situation will be regularized, said Fritzner Bernadel.

He encourages those concerned to get in line with the institution and recalls that under the decree of May 2006, no vehicle is authorized to circulate on the national territory without a registration plate from the DGI (Directorate General of Taxes), nor insurance policy issued by the OACVT.

For his part, the Divisional Commissioner Jean Maurest Étienne, Director of Traffic and Road Police, reaffirmed the will of the Traffic Directorate of the Road Police (DCPR) to enforce the decree of May 2006 requiring owners of motor vehicles to have a valid insurance policy and urges owners to comply stressing that the law will be enforced in all its rigor.
