Haiti - FLASH : A peasant brigade kills 6 beef thieves with machete

The peasants of the 3rd Petite Rivière (communal section of Léogâne) finally revolted and killed 6 beef thieves, reported our colleague from Léogane Walderme Joseph.

Remember that for more than a year, the peasants of Léogâne have been victims of cattle theft and faced with the inaction of the police forces, the peasants have decided to organize themselves into a brigade to watch over their cattle.

"The thieves, armed come by truck and in a single evening they can slaughter and butcher 17 oxen, they take the meat and leave the offal on the ground", explained Journalist Walderme Joseph at the microphone of Radio Préférence F.M.

Thus, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, November 22, a peasant brigade apprehended 6 suspected beef thieves, whom they killed with machetes before burning their bodies in an act of popular justice.

By this action, the Léogânais peasants sent a strong message to the other thieves no beef thief will be tolerated."
