Pradel Henriquez the Ministry of Culture and Communication at the beginning of the year 2021, taking advantage of the 217 anniversary of Haiti's independence, paid tribute to health professionals as part of the fight against the coronavirus Covid-19.

Recalling to everyone's memory that in 1804 "[...] the immortal Marie-Claire Heureuse Bonheur who actively participated in the war for independence as a nurse. She provided care to the soldiers who, over time, became our heroes of today.

It is therefore an opportunity for the Ministry to celebrate the heroines and heroes of that time as those of our current time they are : health professionals, doctors, nurses, auxiliaries, pharmacists, ambulance drivers, technical and medical staff in general, etc... who embody the common good, by taking care of patients infected with Covid, whose resilience and resistance are constants in our daily history [...]"

On January 1, 2021, Minister Henriquez believes that it is necessary "[...] to think of these women and men who are not afraid of being infected to treat us, who do not have neither fear of exposing oneself to all the dangers to restore our life. They swore to be faithful to the laws of honor and probity, to always apply the formula of Rabelais, on this unfailing marriage of science and conscience 'science without conscience is only ruin of the soul'. As much, in their own way, they have contributed to saving the world within hospitals or health centers, it is also them who will save it much more and better thanks to research laboratories.

In a nutshell, healthcare professionals in our country or in other skies, in the age of Covid-19, are in fact our real heroes.
