Haiti - FLASH : Scenes of rare violence in Park Saint-Yves, at least 2 dead and many injured
On Sunday, scenes of great violence erupted at Parc Saint-Yves de l'Arcahaie, during the return final of the playoffs of the opening series of the first division national championship where the Arcahaie Football Club faced Violette Athlétic Club.

While Fritzner Oslin opened the scoring from the first seconds of play for Violette [1-0] and Mylove Dorvilien balanced the score [1-1] before the 20' of play, an altercation between 2 opposing players broke out, causing their expulsion by decision of the arbitrator.

It was at this point that the situation escalated on the lawn between the two teams leading their supporters into a wave of violence which caused the suspension of the match.

A foreseeable situation after the victory of the first leg by the Violette [2-1] at the ranch of Croix-des-Bouquets where fights between players had left several injured especially in the Archelois camp who claimed to be victims thirsty for revenge.

Throwing stones, bottles, tear gas against a backdrop of gunshots and a burst of automatic weapons... an outburst of violence that continued outside the Park where cars were set on fire, the road accesses were entry and exit of the Archaie blocked by barricades...

Ronald Gérard D’Mezard, the Minister of Youth and Sports who attended the match with some of his close collaborators had to be evacuated urgently to ensure their safety...

Provisional assessment 5 dead (2 officially confirmed including a supporter by gunshot) and many injured including Manoel Nelson the journalist of League Sport Plus.
