Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly is back in Haiti 02/07/2011 10:23:07
"The various Heads of States present, and the Prime Ministers, met for a working session [...] we made reflections, for example, on projects related to agriculture and investment [...] Before I left the summit, I met Percival James Patterson, the former Prime Minister of Jamaica, [the Special Envoy for Haiti of the CARICOM] and we discussed issues concerning Haiti: the funds to help the reconstruction, the relations with the Caribbean Development Bank, the issue of education and the possibility to make a University of the Caribbean in Haiti. We agreed, that until we were talking about the modalities of this University [...] that 100 Haitian students, in the new session that will open in September, can undergo training with the University of West Indies (UWI). We also had the opportunity to meet, it was a pleasure and an honor, about 40 to 50 Haitian students, studying medicine in Saint Kitts and Nevis [...] we told them that we are proud of them, that it is the road that the children of the country must take, the road of the school, so that Haiti can finally get out of the problem in which it is.
