Haiti - Grande Première : Launch of the Environmental Information platform
It was Astrel Joseph Director General of the Ministry who proceeded with this official launch in the presence, among others, of Fabien Monteils representative of the United Nations Environment Program in Haiti (UNEP - Haiti), of Boby Piard, Director of the National Center for Geo-spatial Information (CNIGS) and officials from Monistère and UNEP.
In his speech, Joseph underlined the importance of this platform which aims to provide technical and scientific information on the environment and which will promote optimal management of resources dedicated to environmental protection and thus fill the void harmful to the good planning of actions.
Recall the SIEHaïti is an online platform intended to collect data on the environment in Haiti, in order to assess, inform and monitor the state of the environment of the country.
The platform is accessible to any Haitian citizen interested in knowing the data, studies and the impact it has on the environment; technicians / specialists in the environment sector; researchers, professors, academics, students for their scientific work and experts from national and international entities interested in contributing to the collection and processing of information on the environment in Haiti.
This platform was set up by the Ministry of the Environment. It is administered by ONEV in collaboration with the National Center for Geo-Spatial Information (CNIGS) and is technically supported by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
SIEHaiti is funded by the Global Environment Facility and was developed by the CIMA Foundation (International Center for Environmental Monitoring) and Athena Global
