As part of the commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with Haiti (March 29, 2021), a coalition of political and civil society organizations from the Dominican Republic condemned in front of the offices of the United Nations (UN) in the National District, the interference of this organization and that of the OAS in the neighboring sister Nation and demanded to let the Haitians decide for themselves their future.

"We condemn the interference of the United Nations in the internal affairs of the Republic of Haiti, which violates the most elementary principles of international law and of its self-determination, which manifests itself in inadmissible colonialist positions and interventionist actions" declared the Coalition.

The Coalition considers that these organs intend to impose a constitutional reform adapted to the current leader, ignoring the popular demands and those of certain political sectors which propose a Government of democratic transition without external supervision.
